NOVA Chamber C-Suite Roundtable
A BIG thank you to the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce for hosting, and Frank Gupton, Ph.D., Floyd D. Gottwald Professor, Dept. Chair of Chemical & Life Science Engineering at @Virginia Commonwealth University College of Engineering, for speaking at the Chamber's March 8th C-Suite Roundtable. Dr. Gupton discussed establishing the Commonwealth's Pharma Cluster Coalition in the City of Petersburg, VA and its impact on Virginia's economy, employment within the state, and contribution to the nation's pharmaceutical stockpile.
Additionally, Dr. Gupton spoke about the Gupton Initiative - a collaboration between The Commonwealth Alliance for Rural Colleges institutions (Appalachian School Of Law, Averett University, Bluefield University, Eastern Mennonite University, Ferrum College) and Virginia Commonwealth University collaborating to create an educational pathway for chemical engineering students in the Commonwealth to enter this industry upon graduation.
I would also like to express our tremendous appreciation for GO Virginia for funding this initiative with an Enhanced Capacity grant awarded to the The Commonwealth Alliance for Rural Colleges!”
